The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway Oleksiy Gavrysh held a meeting with the Minister of Justice and Public Security of the Kingdom of Norway Astri Aas-Hansen.
The parties discussed a broad range of current matters, in particular ways to improve the effectiveness of support programs for Ukrainians temporarily residing in Norway. The possibility of creating conditions for their employment in Ukraine following the end of the war was also considered.
Particular attention was given to deepening cooperation in the field of the rule of law and the restoration of justice. The Ambassador welcomed Norway’s support for the establishment of a Special Tribunal to hold the Russian Federation accountable for the crime of aggression, as well as its assistance in the development of an International Compensation Mechanism.
Oleksiy Gavrysh noted the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, supported, among other things, by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cybersecurity between the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine and the Norwegian National Security Authority in May.
The parties confirmed their shared commitment to further deepening Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
