The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway Oleksiy Gavrysh held a meeting with the Minister of Health and Care Services of the Kingdom of Norway Jan Christian Vestre.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare, including the exchange of clinical experience gained in emergency situations, the provision of humanitarian aid in the form of medical equipment, as well as the rehabilitation of veterans and children, initiated by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. Particular attention was given to mental health issues.

Oleksiy Gavrysh expressed gratitude to Norway and the Norwegian healthcare system for the treatment of wounded Ukrainian servicemen, in particular for continuing the country’s participation in the Medevac medical evacuation program until the end of 2027. The possibility of increasing the quota for treating Ukrainian patients in Norway was also discussed.

The meeting also addressed the practical implementation of the Memorandum of Partnership in the field of healthcare between Ukraine and Norway, signed on 1 July 2025 in Kyiv.

The Ambassador expressed hope for the continued strengthening and development of close partnership between Ukraine and Norway in the healthcare sector.
