The Ambassador of Ukraine to Norway Oleksiy Gavrysh participated in the opening of the third Nordic Ukraine Advocacy Summit held in Oslo.
The event brought together members of parliament, government officials, security experts, think tank representatives, and civil society representatives from the Nordic countries and Ukraine.
In his remarks, the Ambassador emphasized that Russia’s war against Ukraine poses not only a threat to Ukrainian statehood but also a significant challenge to the security of the entire European continent. He underscored the importance of unity within the international community in confronting Russian aggression, particularly through enhanced sanctions—especially in the energy sector—to restrict the aggressor’s resources.
The Ambassador informed participants about the repercussions of yet another massive overnight attack by Russia on Ukrainian cities, emphasizing that these criminal actions once again underscore the urgent need for robust and coordinated pressure on the aggressor—political, economic, and sanctions-based.
The Ambassador Gavrysh also emphasized the vital role of the Ukrainian diaspora, urging Ukrainians abroad to stay united, active, and fully engaged in the shared goal of advancing Ukraine’s victory.
He expressed sincere gratitude to all international partners who continue to support Ukraine—politically, militarily, through humanitarian assistance, sanctions, and other forms of solidarity. Special thanks were extended to the organizers of the Summit, the Ukrainian community in Norway, and all partners involved in making this important event possible.
