Ukrainian Days in Oslo showcased the rich cultural heritage and the potential of contemporary Ukrainian designers

From April 22 to 26, the Association for the Support of Ukrainian Culture in Norway, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway, organized a series of events as part of the Ukrainian Days in Norway.

An exhibition and sale featuring Ukrainian contemporary designers showcased brands of footwear, clothing, bags, accessories, and other products was held for three days in the center of Oslo.

At the opening of the exhibition, Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Ukraine Ihor Holovchenko emphasized that even in the face of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukrainians continue to work, create art, and produce goods that are of interest to other countries.

The Minister of Trade and Industry of Norway Cecilie Myrseth delivered a welcoming speech. She emphasized that the event creates new opportunities for the development of Ukrainian businesses and assured that Norway will continue to support the economic development and reconstruction of Ukraine.

Ihor Holovchenko spoke about the consequences of the massive Russian attack on Kyiv on April 24 and introduced the virtual project «Living the War» to Cecilie Myrseth. The Minister had the opportunity to experience, in virtual reality, the consequences of the war crimes that Russia commits daily against civilians and peaceful Ukrainian cities.

The exhibition also showcased Krolevets weaving products, which are included in the National List of Elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine. Models from the Inclusive Model School «NoviMY» presented traditional old Ukrainian embroidered shirts.

During the Ukrainian Days in Norway, a concert featuring Ukrainian performers and an exhibition of children's drawings «Ukraine is Us», prepared by students of the Sumy Art School named after M.Lysenko, were held.

The final event of the Days of Ukraine in Norway was the conference "Ukraine-Norway: A Look into the Common Future. Opening the event, Charge d'Affaires a.i.  Ihor Holovchenko highlighted the unique characteristics of the Norwegian market and discussed potential opportunities and challenges for Ukrainian exporters of light industry goods.
