On 17-18 June, Ihor Holovchenko, Counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway, took part in the celebrations in Reykjavik on the occasion of Iceland’s National Day.
Icelandic Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir noted in her speech to the diplomatic corps that Iceland will maintain its principled support for Ukraine against the backdrop of Russian aggression. She stated that “there is a big difference between pacifism and passivity,” emphasizing Iceland’s readiness to continue providing military and technical assistance to Ukraine.
During meetings with diplomats from the MFA of Iceland, Ihor Holovchenko discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of energy.
