The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway, Oleksiy Gavrysh, held a meeting with the Norwegian Minister for Children and Families, Lene Vågslid. The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Embassy and the Ministry in matters related to the protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian children residing in Norway.

Ambassador emphasized the importance of taking into account the special circumstances faced by Ukrainian families affected by the war. He stressed that the best interests of the child and their parents must remain the top priority, that every child should be protected, and that any form of discrimination or bullying must be firmly condemned.

In turn, Lene Vågslid reaffirmed Norway’s continued support for Ukraine and underlined that Ukrainian children enjoy the same rights as Norwegian children. The Norwegian side also expressed its readiness to maintain close contact with the Ukrainian side on issues concerning the protection of the rights of Ukrainians residing in Norway.
