Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway Oleksiy Gavrysh visited the headquarters of the Norwegian offshore energy association Offshore Norge and met with Chair of the Board Marianne Olsnes, as well as members of the association’s Board.

During the meeting, the Ambassador informed his counterparts about the difficult state of Ukraine’s energy system, the urgent needs of the energy sector, and the main challenges caused by Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

The parties discussed the importance of strengthening Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation in the energy field, in particular through mutual exchange of experience in digitalization and crisis management. A separate important topic of the conversation was the prospects of using Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities to create strategic reserves.

Oleksiy Gavrysh thanked the Norwegian side for its substantial support of Ukraine in strengthening its energy security and expressed confidence in the further development of mutually beneficial partnership between the energy sectors of both countries.
