The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway Oleksiy Gavrysh held a meeting with the Director of the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB) Elisabeth Aarsæther.

The parties discussed the key challenges faced by Ukraine's civil protection system under wartime conditions, as well as issues of international coordination of civil and humanitarian assistance, in particular through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

Special attention was given to the protection of critically important infrastructure, primarily energy infrastructure, humanitarian demining of agricultural lands, and measures to enhance the safety of the population.

The Ambassador expressed sincere gratitude to Norway for providing assistance in carrying out medical evacuation and treatment of Ukrainian defenders within the framework of the Medevac program.

In turn, Elisabeth Aarsæther emphasized the importance of exchanging experience in the field of civil protection and noted that Norway’s preparedness system is inspired by the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people.

The parties confirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
