Norwegian companies Kistefos AS and Orkla ASA donated Christmas sweets - chocolate and biscuits with an estimated value of about $400,000 - to children in orphanages and to soldiers on the front line in Ukraine. This is the third consecutive year that sweet gifts will be sent to Ukraine for the New Year holidays.
The Ukrainian community in Norway, along with the Norwegian charity organization Pute and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway, will transport the gifts to Ukraine.
The diplomats of the Embassy met with the management of Kistefos AS at the humanitarian aid warehouse in Oslo. During the meeting, the volunteers tald about their work, the collection of humanitarian aid, and the logistics involved in delivering cargo to Ukraine.
The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Ukraine Ihor Holovchenko emphasized that this donation further confirms Norway's unwavering support, which remains consistently strong at all levels—national, local, and public.
During the meeting, the Norwegian company decided to allocate an additional $20,000 to cover the transportation costs for the next five shipments of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
