A representative delegation from Ukraine composed of the MPs, Government representatives, city mayors, members of Association of Ukrainian Cities and representatives of municipalities visited Norway on April 6-10, within the framework of a 3-year bilateral project.

 During the meeting at the Stortinget, delegation was informed about the steps of decentralization reform, namely on reducing the number of municipalities and transferring more responsibility. The last reform of a kind was held in 1950^th. At the meeting at the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities, Ukrainian guests were informed of the functioning of the biggest employer in Norway representing interests of over 495 thousand employees. The delegation attended As and Fredrikstad where could learn about their political and administrative structures, financing education and health care systems, as well as with services for youth. Special attention was paid to the role and place of municipalities in provisioning the above mentioned services.
