Legal assessment of actions of 24 people’s deputies – members of the group “For Peace and Stability” who visited the State Duma – should be given by the law-enforcement bodies.
He informed that he has addressed the law-enforcement bodies with a request to provide legal assessment of such actions of these people’s deputies.
“Apart from the draft Resolution that was referred to the Parliament, I have addressed the law-enforcement bodies – the Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor’s General Office regarding legal assessment of activity of these people’s deputies,” said Oleksandr Turchynov, noting that “the issue of falsification of laws, as well as promotion and support of separatism also has to do with some of them.”
Responding to the question how the Parliament can prevent these people’s deputies from participating in the plenary meetings, Oleksandr Turchynov said that in case the Verkhovna Rada supports the respective Resolution, they will not participate in the meetings.
Thereat, he reminded that in order to deprive them of the status of the people’s deputy or bring them to criminal liability, there should be the decision of the respective law-enforcement bodies.
