25 February 2021 16:41

On 25 February 2021 we mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Lesya Ukrainka – one of Ukrainian literature’s foremost authors, whose works have travelled around the world and been translated into dozens of languages. For more than a century, Lesya Ukrainka has remained a powerful ambassador of Ukrainian culture internationally. Generations of Ukrainians unite around her memorable works.

Lesia Ukrainka (1871 – 1913) is one of Ukrainian literature's foremost writers, active political, and civil activists who also strongly invested in the feminist struggle and in the idea of women’s empowerment. A woman who insisted on the fact that her spirit was stronger than her body.
