The Embassy of Ukraine in Norway honored the Crimean Tatar Flag Day, the national symbol of one of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine.
The Crimean Tatar flag was first raised in 1917. It symbolizes the resistance of the Crimean Tatar people to all those who have ever tried to destroy their culture.
At first Crimean Tatars were repressed by the communist regime, and following the temporary occupation of Crimea by Russia, they have been subjected to persecution and other
repressive measures by the Russian authorities.
