In Oslo, the Norwegian-Ukrainian Friendship Association and the Ukrainian Community in Norway held a memorial event to commemorate the victims of MH17.
On this day 10 years ago, the Malaysian Airlines plane was shot down by Russian military personnel and individuals under their direct control. This terrorist act resulted in the deaths of 298 citizens from various countries.
In his speech, Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Ukraine in Norway Ihor Holovchenko expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the deceased passengers and crew.
“We have gathered today to honor the memory of the victims and to remind Russia that all those responsible for this heinous crime will be brought to justice, no matter how much time and effort it takes,” he emphasized.
Representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Norway, the Norwegian Helsinki Committee, the Norwegian Parliament, and the community delivered speeches during the event.
The participants honored the memory of the victims of this disaster caused by the Russian aggressor with flowers and a minute of silence.
