The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway Oleksiy Gavrysh held a meeting with the Minister of Transport of the Kingdom of Norway Jon-Ivar Nygård.
The parties discussed a wide range of current matters related to the reconstruction of Ukraine’s damaged transport infrastructure, including seaports, railway facilities, and the country’s air navigation system. Special attention was given to prospects for cooperation in bridge construction and the involvement of Norwegian and Ukrainian companies in such projects.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude to Norway for its comprehensive support of Ukraine and emphasized Ukraine’s readiness to share its experience in protecting transport infrastructure gained during the war, including through the digitalization of key processes.
Oleksiy Gavrysh also noted Norway’s decision to extend the «transport visa-free regime» until the end of 2025, which ensures unhindered bilateral and transit freight transportation between our two countries, and stressed the importance of maintaining this initiative.
In turn, Jon-Ivar Nygård reaffirmed the Norwegian government’s continued commitment to supporting Ukraine and expressed interest in deepening cooperation in the transport sector.
