The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway Oleksiy Gavrysh held a meeting with the Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Norway Terje Aasland.

The parties discussed areas of Ukrainian-Norwegian energy cooperation, particularly in the gas sector. Special attention was given to Ukraine's gas needs for the stable passage of the heating season, as well as the prospects for using Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities to form strategic gas reserves.

The Ambassador informed the minister on the current situation in Ukraine’s energy sector and the main challenges caused by Russia's war against Ukraine. In this context, the parties noted the importance of strengthening energy security.

Oleksiy Gavrysh thanked the Norwegian partners for their significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine's energy resilience, proposed an exchange of experience in the field of crisis management, and expressed hope for the further development of a mutually beneficial partnership between the energy sectors of Ukraine and Norway.
