The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway Oleksiy Gavrysh held a meeting with the Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Norway Terje Aasland.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including the exchange of experience in crisis management, opportunities to increase investments in Ukraine, and the introduction of insurance mechanisms for joint Ukrainian-Norwegian projects.

Oleksiy Gavrysh expressed gratitude to the Government of Norway for the energy support package announced on January 12, 2026, in the amount of 200 million US dollars.

The Ambassador also informed the minister about the current state of the energy sector in Ukraine and highlighted the impact of daily Russian attacks on the civilian population and the national economy. Particular attention was given to Ukraine’s ongoing gas needs, which are essential for ensuring a stable heating season.

Oleksiy Gavrysh expressed hope for the continued strengthening and development of a mutually beneficial partnership between the energy sectors of Ukraine and Norway.
