Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Ukraine in Norway Ihor Holovchenko met with the members of the "Youth Atlantic Treaty Association".
He discussed Ukraine's fight against Russian military aggression, progress towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration, reforms in the digital and economic sectors, and military and civilian support from Norway. Particular emphasis was placed on the high level of support (80%) among Ukrainians for joining NATO and the EU.
Ihor Holovchenko stressed the importance of strengthening international efforts to enhance and expedite the supply of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine.
"The main priority remains to strengthen Ukraine's air defense to ensure the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure from missile and drone attacks", - he said.
The young people were also interested in Ukraine's experience in countering Russian disinformation, prospects for Ukraine's post-war recovery, and other issues related to Ukraine's foreign policy.
The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. emphasized the effectiveness of the EU sanctions against Russian propaganda outlets such as Sputnik and Russia Today. He also underlined the importance of strengthening the international sanctions policy to deprive Russia of the ability to finance the war.
Ihor Holovchenko emphasized the high level of bilateral relations and Norway's leadership in providing comprehensive support to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
