Charge d’Affaires a.i. Ihor Holovchenko spoke at the annual Nordic Security Conference, organized by the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA). He took part in the panel discussion “Ukraine: on the frontline and the world stage”, informing about Ukraine’s efforts to repel Russian aggression and cooperation with international partners to achieve a just and lasting peace.
Ihor Holovchenko emphasized the principle of respecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and right to choose its own future, including joining NATO. He stressed the importance of ensuring Ukraine’s military capability to deter the Russian threat now and in the future, in particular by developing the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.
The Head of the Embassy drew the attention of the Conference participants to the killing in Kryvyi Rih by Russians of 9 children and the deaths and injuries of dozens of people caused by a ballistic missile with a cluster warhead.
Participation in the event allowed to outline Ukraine’s priorities in stopping Russian aggression to more than 150 representatives of Norwegian youth from YATA, who are interested in foreign policy.
