On the 5th of February 2017, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko sent a congratulatory letter to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway Erna Solberg on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Norway.
“Bilateral relations between our two countries have thousand years’ roots traced to the times of the Kievan Rus and the ancient Norwegian state. Since the restoration of the independence of Ukraine, we have succeeded to build a relationship of genuine partnership. Through all that period, Norway has been a strong supporter of Ukraine”, – emphasized Petro Poroshenko in his greetings.
“We highly value your position of solidarity towards the struggle of our country to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We are grateful for Norway’s support to Ukraine in implementing internal reforms aimed at rapid modernization of the country in line with the best European standards”, – stated the President of Ukraine.
“Today, Ukraine and Norway continue their efforts aimed at unlocking the immense potential of their bilateral partnership. This was confirmed by our talks within my visit to Norway in October 2016. On the occasion of this remarkable anniversary, I would like to reiterate Ukraine’s willingness to continue to strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation with Norway”, – stressed the Head of State.
The President of Ukraine wished the Prime Minister of Norway every success in discharging her important responsibilities. He also wished peace and prosperity to the friendly Norwegian people.
